Producer's Note

Hilary has been directing and choreographing shows for 18 years for various companies in Essex and abroad. She has appeared in words, mime and music programmes both here and abroad, children’s theatre locally and touring and has played and danced in a number of leading roles for the now defunct Westcliff Operatic and Dramatic Society. She is a drama teacher, drama convenor for the Leigh Music Festival, stage manager for Rug Opera and finds time occasionally to tread the boards herself having just played the Blues Singer in Barnum for New Empire Players.

Musical Director's Note

It has only been for the last few years that I have become involved in being a musical director for amateur societies, having only started by helping out a friend for one rehearsal! That one rehearsal, which at the time I nearly turned down, has opened many doors for me for which I am grateful. Since then, I have been involved with a number of local societies including Thurrock & Thameside Musical Society, Arts Factory, BASOP, 2 Faced Productions and of course not forgetting Benfleet Operatic Society. Shows include, Honk, West Side Story, Oklahoma, Hello Dolly, A Slice of Saturday Night, Oliver and Pirates of Penzance. Rehearsals for The Pajama Game have as always, been good fun and sprinkled with laughter and a lot of hard work has gone into what you will see tonight. I hope that you will enjoy the show as much as we have in putting it together. Finally, I would like to thank our accompanist Rachael, who is really more of an assistant MD to me, for her help in taking rehearsals when I am unable to be there.
