Producer's
Note Simon is a graduate of The Central School of Speech and Drama where he studied voice with Margot Braund and then later with Cicely Berry (RSC) and Patsy Rodenburg (NT). After graduating he worked in theatre management and extensively as a performer. He has sung in many of the major concert halls of Europe and the UK; and was privileged to study singing with Rick Jensen in New York. He is a producer, director and teacher, and runs his own theatrical production company RAW Theatre; for whom this year he has directed Sondheim’s Company ; and has recently devised and directed We’ll Gather Lilacs – a revue of the works of Ivor Novello. He has produced and directed three award-winning productions for operatic societies – Countess Maritza (TOADS); Fiddler on the Roof and Scrooge (BOS). He has also directed; Larkrise to Candleford , Teechers , Putting on the Blitz and Miss Julie Simon’s theatre credits include: Blood Brothers (Narrator) Larkrise (Laura’s Father), Perfect Relationships (Singer) Coming Clean (Greg) The Importance of Being Earnest (John Worthing) Wind in the Willows (Badger) A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Oberon and Theseus) Treasure Island (Narrator) Putting on the Blitz (Frank) Rodgers And… (Singer); which he also devised. Musical
Director's Note Clare is a graduate of Royal Holloway University where she studied Music. Since leaving university she has taught piano, performed and taken the role of Musical Director for a number of local societies, including Thurrock Thameside Musical Society, Two Faced Productions, Arts Factory and of course Benfleet Operatic Society. She is also a rehearsal pianist and accompanist for Basildon Operatic Society, CDOT and ‘Pure Entertaiment’. Recent shows as MD include South Pacific, HMS Pinafore and Copacabana. Clare is currently working on A Slice of Saturday Night for Two Faced Productions. Clare also works at the Adagio School of Dance as an accompanist and singing teacher. Claire Penfold |
